Facebook Fellowship The Facebook Fellowship is a fully-funded, global PhD program designed to encourage and support promising doctoral students who are engaged in innovative and relevant research in areas related to computer science and engineering at an accredited university. The program is open to students in any year of their PhD study. We also encourage people of diverse backgrounds and experiences to apply, especially those from traditionally under-represented groups.

International Graduate Students and Scholars of Emory Seeks Students Mentees The International Graduate Students and Scholars of Emory (IGSS) seeks current LGS 1st year students to serve as mentees. Mentees will be paired with mentors who will help new international students negotiate various cultural barriers by providing them with information on groceries, housing options, ride services, community engagement, and different Emory and Atlanta activities.

EDGE Seminar: A User’s Guide to Understanding Pronouns Join EDGE for a seminar that will cover the do's and don'ts of pronouns while engaging attendees in discussions around the topics of gender, gender expression, and sexual orientation. They will explore the range of career options available to individuals with advanced degrees in the humanities and social sciences.
New! Strengths-Based Interviewing Foundational Workshop This empowering workshop prepares students to navigate today's competitive job market. Participants will develop language to share their unique strengths, based on Gallup’s CliftonStrengths assessment. To attend this workshop, you agree to take the Clifton Strengths assessment at least two days before the workshop.

Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship Applications for the Mellon/ACLS Dissertation Completion Fellowship must include an attestation letter from the applicant’s institution, provided by the Dean (see final item under Application Requirements here). Those applying for this Completion Fellowship should submit applications to the Mellon ACLS online portal by the internal deadline. Please consult the guidelines below.
New! 2021 Hertz Fellowship The Hertz Fellowship provides financial and lifelong professional support for the nation’s most promising graduate students in science and technology. The fellowship includes up to five years of funding, valued at up to $250,000, and the freedom to pursue innovative projects wherever they may lead. Fellows also take part in ongoing mentoring, symposia, and workshops with a diverse community of more than 1200 fellows-- a set of peers who span disciplines, generations, and geography.

Deadline Approaching! Call for Student E-Posters: 2020 Science, Technology and Human Rights Conference The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Human Rights Coalition, Human Rights Educators USA (HRE USA), and the University and College Consortium for Human Rights Education (UCCHRE), invite students to submit an e-poster and presentation video for the upcoming October 22-23, 2020 virtual Science, Technology, and Human Rights Conference.
The Student E-Poster Session is an opportunity for students to share their research at the intersection of science, technology, and human rights. The session, held during this conference, showcases the individual efforts of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral-level students interested in human rights and actively working toward a degree.
Jones Program in Ethics (JPE): Mini-Grants The Jones Program in Ethics is pleased to announce a series of mini-grants for Laney Graduate School PhD student research projects. A successful proposal will highlight particular ways your project engages in ethics. This could include, but is not limited to, a philosophical question, a pragmatic application, or a challenge to, or support of, cultural and societal norms. These grants will be awarded to individuals or groups who are engaged in the stated research project.

Laney Graduate Writing Group Join the weekly graduate student writing group to keep yourself accountable, make progress, and obtain feedback on your projects.
For the first hour, you will write for two 25-minute intervals using the Pomodoro technique. In the second hour, you will have the opportunity to receive feedback on your writing, via Zoom, with a member of either the Emory Writing Center or the English Language Support Program (ELSP).

The CFDE is offering a Workshop Series on “Zoom Class Engagement,” that provides extra support for instructors and TAs who are planning engaging learning activities in Zoom class settings. One-on-one feedback on existing teaching projects will be available to attendees. Participants should come with an idea in mind and a class session to work on developing.
