New! Call for Student E-Posters: 2020 Science, Technology and Human Rights Conference

The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) Science and Human Rights Coalition, Human Rights Educators USA (HRE USA), and the University and College Consortium for Human Rights Education (UCCHRE) invite students to submit an e-poster and presentation video for the upcoming October 22-23, 2020 virtual Science, Technology, and Human Rights Conference.

The Student E-Poster Session during this conference is an opportunity for students to share their research at the intersection of science, technology and human rights. The session is meant to showcase the individual efforts of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral-level students who are interested in human rights and who are actively working toward a degree.

New! Jones Program in Ethics (JPE): Mini Grants

The Jones Program in Ethics is pleased to announce a series of mini-grants for Laney Graduate School PhD student research projects. A successful proposal will highlight particular ways your project engages in ethics. This could include, but is not limited to, a philosophical question, a pragmatic application, or a challenge to, or support of, cultural and societal norms. These grants will be awarded to individuals or groups who are engaged in the stated research project.

Laney Graduate Writing Group

Join the weekly graduate student writing group to keep yourself accountable, make progress, and obtain feedback on your projects.

For the first hour, you will write for two 25-minute intervals using the Pomodoro technique. In the second hour, you will have the opportunity to receive feedback on your writing, via Zoom, with a member of either the Emory Writing Center or the English Language Support Program (ELSP).

The CFDE is offering a Workshop Series on “Zoom Class Engagement,” that provides extra support for instructors and TAs who are planning engaging learning activities in Zoom class settings. One-on-one feedback on existing teaching projects will be available to attendees. Participants should come with an idea in mind and a class session to work on developing.
