Opportunities New! LGBT Graduate Student Welcome Mixer The Office of LGBT Life invites LGBT graduate students to a virtual mixer to learn more about graduate specific office programming, connect with other graduate students, and share their ideas for future initiatives. This event is open to graduate students across the university and will foster community for new and returning LGBT graduate students.
New! The American Antiquarian Society Virtual Book Talk With Amy Hildreth Chen The American Antiquarian Society is hosting a virtual book talk with LGS alum Amy Hildreth Chen 13G, author of Placing Papers: The American Literary Archives Market. The session includes the author presentation and audience Q&A. This program is free but requires advanced registration.
New! Woodruff Library Workshops: Copyrights & EDT LGS students are invited to learn about navigating copyright and author rights in a digital environment.
New! National Humanities Center Graduate Student Winter Residency Programs The Mellon Humanities PhD Interventions Project will support doctoral students’ participation in the National Humanities Center Remote Winter Residency Programs. The Mellon Interventions Project will support up to ten doctoral students for the residency program, “How to Create Meaningful Online Learning Experiences,” and up to six doctoral students for the residency program, “Podcasting the Humanities: Creating Digital Stories for the Public.”
Michigan Society of Fellows Each year, the Michigan Society of Fellows selects outstanding applicants for appointment to three-year fellowships in the humanities, the arts, and the social, physical, and life sciences. They seek a diverse and international pool of applicants and especially welcome candidates from underrepresented backgrounds. The newly appointed Postdoctoral Fellows join a unique interdisciplinary community composed of their peers as well as Senior Fellows of the Society, who include many of the University’s leading scholars.
International Graduate Students and Scholars of Emory Seeks Student Mentors The International Graduate Students and Scholars of Emory (IGSS) seeks current LGS student volunteers to serve as mentors for new, incoming international students. Mentors will help new international students negotiate various cultural barriers by providing them with information on groceries, housing options, ride services, community engagement, and different activities around Emory and Atlanta.
Presidential Management Fellowship Program Attend an informational webinar to learn more about this prestigious two-year fellowship at a Federal agency. It is a flagship leadership development program at the entry level for advanced degree candidates, designed to develop a cadre of potential government leaders.

Library Appointments Available to Faculty and Graduate Students Emory Libraries are available to support your research needs. For those not approved to return to campus or with limited access, the libraries will provide access to resources electronically. Whenever possible, some requests for physical materials can be accommodated.
Please submit any requests from the physical collections through discoverE. Log in with your EmoryID and follow the instructions. If a digital alternative is not possible, library staff will work with you to get a physical copy and coordinate pick up times.

One-on-One Career Coaching
Remote Teaching Resources LGS teaching assistants and teaching associates may attend webinars and utilize resources for teaching in remote environments listed below. CIRTL Offerings CIRTL (Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning) will be running courses, a MOOC, teaching institutes , and online teaching office hours this summer, each designed to dig into specific aspects of inclusive, effective, evidence-based STEM pedagogy.
Libraries & Information Technology Services: Canvas 1-2-3 Beginning June 1, LITS will offer several Canvas workshops. Topics include Canvas Essentials, Grading and Assignments, Student Activity, Canvas Studio, Quizzing, Analytics.
