New! Developing Professional Body Language and Voice for Online Interactions Workshop This virtual workshop covers ways to project a professional, engaging, and confident persona when participating in online communication tasks.
New! Global Research Fellows Program The Halle Institute for Global Research announces the 2021 Global Research Fellows Program for Laney Graduate School PhD students in the pre-candidacy stage. The program will fund up to six grants with maximum awards of $4,000/grant.

Dobes Award Session: "Tell the Story of Your Research through Creative and Persuasive Communication" presented by Misael Romero-Reyes This workshop explores how to generate relevant analogies— an essential component to simplifying research, and how to leverage elements of persuasive communication in research descriptions, such as defining vocabulary, buzzwords, and keywords tailored to their audience.
New! Berlin Graduate Student Exchange Program The Laney Graduate School maintains a graduate student exchange program with the Freie Universität Berlin (FUB). One student may be selected to represent Emory at the FUB for the 2021-22 academic year (October 1, 2021 - July 31, 2022). Selection is based on a competitive process.

The first session features Dr. Justin Hosbey, Emory Assistant Professor of Anthropology and co-editor of the #BlackEcologies series on the award-winning blog Black Perspectives.
Pathways Beyond the Professoriate: Entrepreneurship Pathways Beyond the Professoriate connects students with distinguished alumni who have chosen career paths outside of the academy. Deadline Approaching! LGS Three-Minute Thesis Competition The Laney Graduate School is hosting our annual Three-Minute Thesis Competition. This competition is an opportunity for PhD Candidates to tell the story of their research to a diverse audience in under three minutes. Cash prizes are available to the winners.
