New! Emory Continuing Education offers free non-credit courses for LGS students Emory Continuing Education (ECE) will offer free non-credit courses for current Laney Graduate School students and postdocs during the upcoming winter break. The courses cover various subjects, including Academic Skills, Innovation & Creativity, Professional Skills, and tools for personal development. Registration begins December 1.
New! Grant Writing Coaching-Spring 2021 (Humanities and Social Sciences) LGS is offering grant writing coaching to students in the humanities and social sciences who are preparing grant and fellowship applications. Students selected for this opportunity will receive one-on-one mentorship and feedback on their grant proposals from Dr. Corinne Kratz, Distinguished Professor of Anthropology and African Studies Emerita, a founder and long-time director of the Grant Writing Program.

New Course! Spring 2021 Course: Reducing Drug-Related Harms using Big Data: Administrative, Geospatial and Network Data Sources (GRAD 700R/BSHE 760R) This course prepares students to conduct ethical, rigorous, and theoretically-informed analyses of three types of “big data” (administrative, geospatial, and social network data) in the context of research and interventions into intersecting crises of substance use disorders (SUDs) and drug-related harms.
LinkedIn: The Missing Manual The LGS Office of Professional Development and Career Planning is pleased to announce our Emory license to the online course LinkedIn: The Missing Manual. LGS partnered with the Office of Postdoctoral Education to purchase a one-year institutional subscription to a complete, step-by-step online course on mastering LinkedIn.
Laney Graduate School Completion Fellowships The Laney Graduate School and several Emory partners offer fellowships to advanced graduate students. Information on the fellowship guidelines for AY21-22 is now available. Interested and eligible doctoral students should visit the Advanced Fellowships page on the LGS website for the latest information.

LGS Virtual Office Hours: The LGS staff will host virtual office hours for graduate students. Contact the team member below to confirm an appointment and receive a Zoom link.
Emory CAPS Emory University's Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will host virtual sessions to help students navigate the challenging times.
Emory Writing Center Consultations The Emory Writing Center supports a range of projects, including seminar papers, dissertation chapters, conference proposals, articles, posters, grants, job application materials, and teaching documents. Students are required to review fall 2020 procedures before scheduling a consultation. Learn about more writing resources for graduate students by visiting their LGS Support website.
Remote Teaching Resources LGS students serving as teaching assistants and teaching associates may attend webinars and utilize teaching resources for virtual environments.
