Dr. Emorja Roberson Presents Be-Spoken
The title, BE-SPOKEN, is a nod to the term ‘bespoke.’ The work uses sacred texts and music genres to address themes of Black empowerment, justice for police violence within Black and Brown communities, and hope for a more prosperous future. BE-SPOKEN is a cantata that explores the themes of loss and joy, and celebrates Blackness. The work begins with a field song and moves through gospel, funk, and hip-hop. The text and music for the work was written by Emorja Roberson, Anthony T. Walker, and Chavis Gill (aka “King Chav”).

Lunch & Learn Envisioning Baroque Rome Digital Project
The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship (ECDS) and the Envisioning Baroque Rome digital humanities project invite you for a one-hour round-table Lunch & Learn. When: March. 21 | 12 p.m. EST Where: Woodruff Library.
Enjoy a provided lunch while the project team discusses the process of building a 3D model of the city of Rome. Led by Sarah McPhee, Samuel Candler Dobbs Professor of Art History, the round-table will include ECDS staff Joanna Mundy, Ian Burr, and John Halbert, and artist Nicole Costello Matthews. The team will discuss the research, modeling, texturing, and animation of Baroque Rome, and you will have an opportunity to explore the newest version of the 3D city yourself!

Empowering Interdisciplinary Graduate Workshop
The Empowering Interdisciplinarity Graduate Workshop is a three-day workshop where graduate students will learn core interdisciplinary pedagogical strategies for: designing and teaching classes that will help students see connections in new ways, building critical thinking skills, and laying the foundations for new perspectives. The workshop is open to PhD students in any Laney Graduate School department or program who have completed TATTO. Application Deadline: March 1 | 5pm EST.
The Graduate Workshop will be held in-person from May 1-3, 2024, and each participating student will receive $500 for attending the workshop. |

Emory Libraries Summer Internship Program (3 PAID positions available)
Emory Libraries is now accepting applications for three distinct summer internships within its Access and Resources Services Division for Summer 2024. The Internships are open to current and recent graduates of ALA-accredited Library and Information Science degree programs, pre-program and current graduate conservation degree programs, and graduate students with an interest in librarianship. These internships are designed to give hands-on experience in an academic library setting.
The Access and Resource Services Division is responsible for the acquisition, description, circulation, delivery, preservation, and digitization of library resources in all formats. The ten-week paid summer internships are for individuals from underrepresented communities with demonstrated interest in librarianship, resource sharing, course reserves, cataloging, and conservation. Interns will have the opportunity to engage in professional-level projects with independence and creativity, learn from experienced professionals, network with local librarians and conservators, as well as build community with members of the intern cohort.

PAID TA POSITIONS – GH521 Qualitative Research Methods – Spring 2024
We are recruiting multiple Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the Spring semester courses on Qualitative Research Methods in the Global Health department of RSPH. These courses will be taught in-person with asynchronous content on Canvas. TAs will assist with group activities, mentor students, review course assignments and assist with course logistics. Interested graduate students must have experience with qualitative research methods for this position by having completed a graduate course in qualitative research. These are paid positions.
There are two sections of this course that meet as follows, each TA would only need to be available for one of these sections: Section 1: Mondays Class is 8am -10.50am OR Section 2: Mondays Class is 3pm - 5.50pm

In Part 1 of the series, you will learn about the STAR Technique and then use it to create responses that highlight your experiences and showcase your skills and abilities. In Part 2, you will receive feedback on the strength and organization of your responses from experienced English Language Specialists and peers, practice responding in small groups, and learn how to use your voice and body to appear confident and engaging.

Announcing the 2024 ACLS Leading Edge Fellowship Competition
The American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) are pleased to announce the 2024 competition of the Leading Edge Fellowship program. The ACLS Leading Edge Fellowship program aims to demonstrate the potential of humanistic knowledge and methods to solve problems, build capacity, and advance social justice and equity. The fellowships support recent PhDs in the humanities and interpretive social sciences as they work with social justice organizations across the country.
Hosting organizations provide professional development opportunities and employee benefits to fellows, and draw on fellows’ scholarly perspectives and broad set of skills. Fellows receive a stipend of $70,000 for the first year, $72,000 in the second, and have access to funds and opportunities for professional development through ACLS and our alumni network. This initiative is made possible through the support of the Mellon Foundation. Application Deadline: March. 13 by 9 pm ET Applications will be accepted only through the ACLS online application system.

Nat C. Robertson Graduate Fellow in Science and Society
The Nat C. Robertson Endowment in Science & Society, in collaboration with the Institute for the Liberal Arts (ILA), requests applications for the year-long graduate student fellowship from September 1, 2024-August 31, 2025. The awardees, a current LGS Ph.D. student in the natural science and one in either the social sciences or humanities, will work with ILA faculty to facilitate a pre-existing course in the Fall. In the Spring, the fellow can develop a new course, team-teach an existing course with an ILA faculty member, or propose a semester-long project with undergraduates that builds on the fellow’s own research interests and integrates the sciences, social sciences, humanities and arts.
To be eligible for the Robertson Science and Society Fellowship, you must be enrolled in Laney Graduate School and in candidacy for PhD. The Fellow will receive a $6,000 stipend for one academic year. Application Deadline: March. 25 | 5pm EST. |
IDEAS Teaching Fellows
The Institute for the Liberal Arts (ILA) requests applications for the IDEAS Teaching Fellowship, a year-long graduate student fellowship from September 1, 2024-August 31, 2025. The awardee will be a current PhD student in a LGS humanities program whose work focuses on the Americas. The fellow will be asked to teach AMST 201: Introduction to American Studies in the spring semester in consultation with the Director of American Studies. In addition, over the course of the academic year, the fellow will be involved with and help facilitate the undergraduate IDEAS (Interdisciplinary Exploration and Scholarship) Fellowship.
Duties will include attending and participating in weekly IDEAS lunch meetings (Fridays, 11:30 – 1:00), helping to plan IDEAS events, and serving as a liaison between IDEAS faculty and fellows.
To be eligible for the IDEAS Fellowship, you must be in candidacy for the PhD in a LGS humanities program. The Fellow will receive a $12,000 for one academic year. Application Deadline: March 25 | 5pm EST. |
