Call for Nominations: 2024 Thomas Jefferson Award The Thomas Jefferson Award is presented annually at Emory University’s commencement. This award is named and endowed by the Robert Earl McConnell Foundation to honor current Emory University faculty and staff who have significantly enriched the intellectual and civic life of the Emory community. The award honors a member of the faculty or staff for significant service to Emory through personal activities, influence, and leadership, usually over the course of many years. The award recognizes personal and professional integrity as well as distinguished service in several of the following areas: - Teaching
- Research and scholarship
- Non-academic accomplishments related to students
- University advancement and development in relation to the entire university or to an area, school, or division
- Community or educational service on the local, state, national, or international level
The Selection Committee, comprised of the Chair and the three most recent winners of the award, is now seeking nominations for the 2024 honoree. More information on the award can be found on the Office of the Provost website. Any Emory University employee may nominate a current Emory faculty or staff member by sending an original letter of nomination and the nominee’s full CV or resume. The nomination letter may include signatures of other Emory employees who wish to endorse the nomination. The nomination letter should be sent to the attention of the Chair and Members of the Jefferson Award Selection Committee. PAID TA POSITIONS – GH521 Qualitative Research Methods – Spring 2024 We are recruiting multiple Teaching Assistants (TAs) for the Spring semester courses on Qualitative Research Methods in the Global Health department of RSPH. These courses will be taught in-person with asynchronous content on Canvas. TAs will assist with group activities, mentor students, review course assignments and assist with course logistics. Interested graduate students must have experience with qualitative research methods for this position by having completed a graduate course in qualitative research. These are paid positions. - Emory has contracted with Sprintax to offer access to their tax preparation software to Emory’s international students and scholars.
- Free tax webinars are available through Sprintax. Review the “Get Help” section of the ISSS Taxes webpage for webinar details.
