New Center for Student Wellbeing Offers Critical Access to Wellness Resources
Graduate students face unique pressures—from the demands of rigorous academic programs to the challenges of balancing personal and professional development—making access to wellness resources critical for their success.
Emory University’s newly launched Center for Student Wellbeing steps in to meet these needs, offering tailored support that helps graduate students navigate stress, build resilience, and prioritize all the dimensions of health. These services will now be led by Megan G. Brown, a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in student counseling and wellbeing in higher education.
Through a holistic approach encompassing wellness coaching, health education, skill building and prevention programs, the center is poised to provide essential resources to foster both academic achievement and personal flourishing.

World Mental Health Day Workshop
Mark Your Calendars: Intro to Mental Health Literacy
In honor of World Mental Health Day, LGS Student Affairs is excited to partner with the NIH-funded Emory Initiative for Maximizing Student Development program to host a seminar designed for both students and faculty to break down the stigma and misconceptions around mental health in academia.
Designed and presented by the Dragonfly Mental Health organization, this seminar will explore the prevalence of mental health challenges in both general and academic populations, identify common signs and symptoms and expose the science behind mental illnesses, including depression and anxiety, and their treatments.

Masking Mistakes: Lessons from the Science, Policies, and Coverage of COVID Faculty Panel

EGHI Global Health Student Photography Contest
Let your photography be a force for inspiration, education, and change. This photography contest invites participants to share their unique perspectives on global health challenges both at home and abroad. The aim is to foster cultural sensitivity and awareness through the lens of photography. Supported by Atlanta-based philanthropist and photographer Bob Yellowlees, founder of Lumiere Gallery, winners will be awarded individual cash prizes of $500.

Job Opportunity – Research Assistant
Intersections: The Education Journal of the Woodruff Health Educators Academy is seeking a Research Assistant who will help design a qualitative study to determine what, if any, impact publishing their works in Intersections has had on those authors and on their impressions of educational scholarship.

Open for Submissions: International Education Week Student Essay Contest
As part of International Education Week (IEW), all current students are invited to participate in in 2024 International Education Week Essay by submitting a 500-750-word essay on the impact global experiences have had on their time at Emory, whether in Atlanta or elsewhere in the world. Winners and runners-up will be invited to read their essays during an event during International Education Week.
Prizes: Two graduate students will win first place prizes of $500; with two additional runner-up prizes of $250.

ELSP Mini Course: Advancing your Graduate Writing Skills
This seven-week workshop is designed to enhance multilingual graduate students' scholarly writing skills through a series of focused workshops, individual feedback, and genre analysis. Over the duration of the course, students will explore and apply various writing tools and strategies, analyze genre-specific moves in academic texts from their fields, and refine their writing through iterative revisions.

International Education Peace Volunteers invites you to join in with other Emory
students and scholars on Sundays for One-on-One Casual Cross-Cultural
Conversations. Free breakfast baked goods, coffee, tea, and Indian milk tea will be provided. Families are welcome to join. Transportation will be provided to and from Emory, as well as residences near Emory, Villa International, and the Lindbergh Marta Station.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program
The NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program provides three years of graduate funding over a five-year fellowship period for outstanding graduate students who are pursuing full-time, research-based master's and doctoral degrees in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. One goal of the program is to broaden the participation of the full spectrum of diverse talents in STEM.
Eligibility requirement: First- and second-year graduate students in the eligible fields listed above.

Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships
Applications are being accepted for Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellowships in humanities and social sciences from the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation. This fellowship supports doctoral candidates in their final year of writing who are working in areas of religion or ethics.

Compensation: $31,000 stipend
Duration: April 1-August 31, 2025
