Student Spotlight | Hina Raheel
Hina Raheel, MSc, RN, a PhD student in the James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies, has been selected by Jonas Nursing, a leading supporter of doctoral nursing education in the United States, and the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) to join the 2024-26 cohort of Jonas Scholars. This honor is awarded to promising nursing doctoral students to support their education and expand the pipeline of nursing faculty.
Raheel is one of only 63 PhD and Doctor of Nursing Practice students in the nation selected for the program, which provides financial assistance, leadership development, mentorship and networking support. Each scholar receives $12,000 in tuition with a school match and is eligible for a possible $6,000 award if they accept a faculty position after graduation. Jonas Scholar alumni go on to serve as faculty, researchers and leaders in academic nursing.

PAID Teaching Assistant Positions – Qualitative Data Analysis Fall 2024 Semester, Rollins School of Public Health
We are seeking three graduate student Teaching Assistants for two courses on Qualitative Data Analysis for this upcoming Fall 2024 semester in the Rollins School of Public Health. These are paid positions. Applicants must have experience in qualitative data analysis and be familiar with the software program MAXQDA. TA duties include assisting in weekly lab sessions with MAXQDA, giving written feedback on assignments, managing the course site on Canvas and assisting the instructor with class administrative tasks.
When: Mondays, 1 - 4 p.m. (Section 1) | Tuesdays, 1 - 4 p.m. (Section 2). TAs only need to be available for one course section.

LAST CHANCE: Piedmont TATTO Fellowship on Sustainability and Curriculum Development
Applications are now open for the Piedmont TATTO Fellowship on Sustainability and Curriculum Development. This interdisciplinary program is open to graduate students in all disciplines and professional programs who want to expand their teaching repertoire around sustainability, environmental, and social justice issues. Fellows share a one-day workshop, learn from campus experts, explore engaged learning opportunities, experience creative teaching strategies, and develop teaching materials.
The program offers a $500 stipend upon completion and approval of a syllabus and attendance at an end-of-summer field trip. Applications will be accepted until all open slots are full.

Mirzayan Fellowship Application Now Open!
Applications for the 2025 Christine Mirzayan Science and Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program is now open. We are seeking current graduate students or recent graduates who are interested in exploring career options in science policy. A typical candidate is in the final years of their PhD program or has defended their thesis within the past five years, and is excited to spend time in D.C., learn about science policy, and network with science and technology policy experts. This year's Fellowship will run from March 3 - May 23, 2025.
International students already based in the United States, individuals with under-represented backgrounds, and/or those with demonstrated interest in taking science, engineering, and medicine beyond the lab are encouraged to apply.
