3rd Annual LGS-EDGE Research Symposium |
The 3rd Annual LGS-EDGE Research Symposium will take place in person Friday, April 14 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. LGS-EDGE invites graduate students conducting research on racial/social inequalities, community engagement, and the intersection between science and humanity to submit an abstract for the symposium. The symposium will feature students from a wide array of disciplines presenting 10-minute chalk talks. JPE credits will be offered.
Please use the template and guidelines here to submit your abstract. Abstracts are limited to 300 words excluding the title and author(s). The required font is 12pt Times New Roman, and abstracts should be submitted as a Word document. Abstract Submission Deadline: Wednesday, March 1 | 11:59 p.m. |

Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Information Session
This information session is being held to discuss the Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) Competition, an academic competition in which graduate students deliver a compelling presentation to a non-specialist audience in three minutes or less. Cash prizes are available for the winner, the runner-up, and the “people’s choice” award. The winner will move on to compete in the regional and possibly national competition. Deadline extended! NIH Resilience Training Program for Graduate Students and Postdocs
The Laney Graduate School and the Office of Postdoctoral Education are partnering with the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education to offer a virtual program on resilience.
The Becoming a Resilient Scientist program includes five units that will discuss multiple topics related to resilience. Each unit consists of a two-hour webinar watched at the trainee’s convenience, followed by a one-hour synchronous virtual small group discussion in small groups.

The Global Ties Conversation Partner Program, a partnership between LGS, Emory College, and the School of Law, pairs members of the Emory community with diverse language backgrounds for cultural exchange and conversation in English. Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) Request for Proposals
The Future Investigators in NASA Earth and Space Science and Technology (FINESST) program is soliciting proposals for graduate student-designed and performed research projects that contribute to the Science Mission Directorate’s (SMD) science, technology, and exploration goals.
Proposals must present a well-defined research problem/activity and a justification of its scientific significance to NASA. FINESST awards are research grants for up to three years and up to $50K per year. Deadline: February 7

Let's Talk is an informal, free, confidential consultation service that allows graduate and professional students to speak with a clinician and receive support for any challenge they may be experiencing. Let's Talk is not a substitute for formal counseling but can be used to receive short-term support and resources. Students will meet 1:1 for a 15-20 minute video or phone consultation with their CAPS consultant. |
Emory Oaks Support Program for Autistic Students
Emory Oaks is a support program for autistic students enrolled at Emory University. Participating students have access to a staff member who meets with them regularly to get to know students in terms of their goals, gifts, interests, and strengths. From there, they work collaboratively to identify goals and ensure that students access the supports and services at Emory that they need or desire. Some common connections include access to Emory entities that provide academic accommodations, career support, mentors, academic coaching, mental wellness support, and others based on feedback from the student.

Support Emory Basketball with Other International Students and Scholars ISSS invites the Emory international community to join us to cheer on our Emory Eagles women’s and men’s basketball teams as they face the University of Chicago. All students, scholars, and families are welcome. Admission is free and ISSS will provide snacks and refreshments in the stands.
