Dear Laney Graduate School Community,
The University has announced plans for the spring 2021 Commencement ceremony. We are pleased to confirm our participation in the in-person celebration and write to share further information on what those plans mean for LGS.
LGS will hold an in-person spring 2021 Commencement ceremony on Friday, May 14, at 9:30 am at the Georgia World Congress Center (GWCC). To maintain a healthy environment for ourselves and those around us, we invite each graduate to bring up to two guests. More information regarding guidelines and other ceremony details are forthcoming.
We are currently working through plans for a celebration that includes a version of the traditional hooding and adheres to CDC guidelines to ensure the safety of our students, faculty, staff, and participating families and friends. We are also working on additional logistics such as space and the coordination with other ceremonies that will occur on that day.
We will keep you abreast as plans develop. Please stay engaged for the latest updates.
We are excited to celebrate with you in the spring and appreciate your patience and flexibility.
Stay safe and stay well,
Lisa A. Tedesco, Ph.D. Vice Provost for Academic Affairs – Graduate Studies Dean, James T. Laney School of Graduate Studies Professor, Rollins School of Public Health Emory University
