Tool helps LGS students explore career paths, prepare for interviews
The Laney Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development and Career Planning is pleased to provide LGS graduate students access to Beyond the Professoriate’s professional development training platform Aurora.
Aurora is an eLearning Platform with on-demand, self-paced learning modules that allow PhDs and Postdocs to explore career options and discover ways to apply the skills acquired through their education.
It includes recorded workshops, panels and interviews with PhDs working in a variety of positions, and an interactive workbook to help guide you through the career exploration and application process. |

New! Technology in Pedagogy, Curriculum, and Research (TPC+R)
The Emory Center for Digital Scholarship is excited to offer Technology in Pedagogy, Curriculum, and Research (TPC+R) is a 6-week TATTO extension program opportunity for graduate students to explore using new technologies in their teaching and research. Participants will discuss practical and theoretical models for digital scholarship while receiving assistance in developing materials for their own courses and/or research. Participants will also - create their own professional website
- design digital assignments
- connect with pedagogy and research experts across the university

participate in workshops on digital research tools
- receive a Certificate of Completion
Spots are limited in this hybrid course, so please ensure you can attend all sessions before applying. -
Dates: February 8 – March 21, 2022

Call for Proposals - Spring 2022 Community-Engaged Learning Grants
The Center for Faculty Development and Excellence (CFDE) is pleased to announce the availability of the Community-Engaged Learning Grants. Grants may be used to support activities related to well-structured community-engaged experiences in courses or academic programs. Proposals should address how community-engaged pedagogy is leveraged to assist organizations with addressing critical community needs in the metro Atlanta area. |
Applications Open for the Edward A. Bouchet Graduate Honor Society
In 2019, the Laney Graduate School became a member of the National Edward Alexander Bouchet Graduate Honor Society, which is named for the first African American doctoral recipient in the United States (Physics, Yale University, 1876), Dr. Edward Alexander Bouchet. The Society acknowledges outstanding scholarly achievement and promotes diversity and excellence in doctoral education and the professoriate. It is a network of preeminent scholars who exemplify academic and personal excellence, foster environments of support, and serve as examples of CLASS: 1) Character; 2) Leadership; 3) Advocacy for students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the academy; 4) Scholarship; and 5) Service. In the spirit of Dr. Bouchet’s commitment to these ideals, inductees into the Bouchet Graduate Honor Society at Emory University must demonstrate significant achievement in these five areas.

Nominations Open for Highest Emory Honor
The Marion Luther Brittain Award 2021-2022 nomination process is open. The award, the highest given to Emory students, honors meritorious service to the university community. Each year, two students are recognized, one graduate and one undergraduate. All fall 2021 and spring 2022 graduates are eligible for this year’s honor. Please see the call for nominations, which provides more detail on award qualifications and procedures for nomination.

Let’s Talk
Let’s Talk is an informal, free, and confidential consultation service that allows students to speak with a clinician and receive support for any challenge they may be experiencing. Although Let’s Talk consultants are mental health professionals, these consultations are not mental health treatment but can be used to receive short-term support and resources. -
