Emory Career Services


In addition to resources offered through LGS-PDCP, other career professionals across Emory offer support and resources that can be helpful to LGS students. 

Emory University Career Center  

The Emory University Career Center offers career workshops, employer information sessions, career fairs, and career-related trainings that are open to LGS students. All Career Center events are managed through Handshake. To see the full range of activities available through the Emory University Career Center, you will need to create an account. Visit https://emory.joinhandshake.com <please list the URL in full> and click on the blue box labeled ‘Emory Students.’ Log in using your Emory credentials. If you are still unable to login, do not create a new account—please email your name and student ID number to recruiting@emory.edu 

The Emory University Career Center has developed excellent resources and guides created specifically for the Emory community, which you can access via the menu of their website. 

Finally, the Emory University Career Center provides institutional access to subscription-based resources that can be helpful for LGS students, such as: 

  • HandshakeHandshake is Emory’s system to search for jobs, apply to job and internship listings, and RSVP and attend the Career Center’s events, workshops, career fairs, recruiting events, and more. Over 40% of Handshake’s job listings are for graduate students. Note: if you are unable to log in using the “Emory Students” tab, please do not create a new account—email your name and student ID number to recruiting@emory.edu
  • CareerShiftCareer Shift is a job search management tool that allows you to search, select, and store job listings from job boards and company postings, access contact information for recruiters and other professionals at organizations that interest you, record your correspondence with employer contacts, and more.
  • InterviewStream | InterviewStream is a virtual tool that helps students prepare for interviews by creating a no-pressure environment to practice and develop interview skills. 
  • Vault | Vault is a virtual tool that provides in-depth intelligence on what it is really like to work within an industry, company, or profession—and how to position yourself to launch and build your career. Vault is best known for its influential rankings, ratings, and reviews on thousands of top employers and hundreds of internship programs.  

Please note that all Career Center events are open to graduate students, with the exception of one-on-one career consultations. However, if you are interested in career coaching, you can make an appointment with one of the LGS Career Coaches.

Emory Alumni Association Career Services  

Emory Alumni Association Career Services: Emory Alumni Association Career Services offers Alumni Career Coaching, and access career webinars on a variety of professional development and industry topics. An archive of past career webinars can be found on this YouTube playlist. The Emory Alumni Online Community is broad and includes many different avenues for connection, including EmoryConnects.
